CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, CO – Six Colorado law enforcement officers have been charged with various offenses in connection to the death of Christian Glass, a 22-year-old man who died in Clear Creek County in June 2023.

The charges against the officers were announced on Tuesday by Clear Creek County District Attorney Alexis King. The officers, who have not been identified, are facing charges ranging from second-degree assault to manslaughter.

Glass was found unresponsive in Clear Creek County on June 17, 2023. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His death was ruled a homicide by the Clear Creek County Coroner’s Office.

The charges against the officers stem from an investigation into Glass’s death by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CBI’s investigation concluded that Glass died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries and that the officers’ actions contributed to his death.

The charges against the officers are as follows:

  • Officer 1: Second-degree assault
  • Officer 2: Manslaughter
  • Officer 3: Third-degree assault
  • Officer 4: Negligent homicide
  • Officer 5: Official misconduct
  • Officer 6: Failure to report an incident

The officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of their cases.

“This is a tragic case,” said District Attorney King. “Our hearts go out to Christian Glass’s family and friends. I want to assure the public that we will do everything in our power to seek justice for Christian.”

The officers are scheduled to appear in court on December 5, 2023.
